‘Dedicate yourself completely to your own spiritual life,

so that you may give yourself completely to all

by way of overabundance’

In recognizing that the true missionary is one committed to the way of holiness, the M.I. affirms the pre-eminence of the interior life. Below are resources for enrolling in the M.I., preparing for Total Consecration, and continuing personal formation after Consecration.

  • M.I. Act of Consecration in Latin

    V. Dignare me laudare Te, Virgo Sacrata.

    R. Da mihi virtutem contra hostes Tuos.

  • M.I. Act of Consecration in English

O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you.

I, (name), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet, humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property.  Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases you.

If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: 'She will crush your head,' and 'You alone have destroyed all heresies in the whole world.' Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed Kingdom of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever you enter you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

    V. Allow me to praise you, O Sacred Virgin.

    R. Give me strength against your enemies.

  • Knights Act of Consecration in English

O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, health of the sick, and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you. You stood at the foot of the Cross, uniting yourself with the sufferings of Jesus, and so you became for all the Church a model of compassion.

I, (name), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property.  Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my daily sufferings and crosses, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases you.

If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: 'She will crush your head,' and, 'You alone have destroyed all heresies in the world.'  Through my prayers and sufferings, let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed kingdom of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.  For wherever you enter, you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

    V. Allow me to praise you, O sacred Virgin.

    R. Give me strength against your enemies.

  • M.I. Daily Renewal Prayer

Immaculata, Queen and Mother of the Church, I renew my consecration to you this day and for always, so that you may use me for the coming of the Kingdom of Jesus in the whole world. To this end I offer you all my prayers, actions, and sacrifices of this day. Amen.

  • Knights Daily Renewal Prayer

Immaculata, Mother of the Church, I renew my self-consecration to you as a Knight at the Foot of the Cross. I desire to magnify the Lord with you this day in a special way by offering you my sufferings. Joined with you in faith at the foot of Christ’s Cross, may I ever be an unselfish instrument for the spread of the Militia of the Immaculata movement and the growth of the Church. Amen.

  • Miraculous Medal Prayer

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you and for all those who do not have recourse to you, especially the enemies of Holy Church and all those recommended to you. Amen.

    4. April: That your Yes at the Annunciation may become the inspiration for every Christian and M.I. Knight.
    5. May: That we may contribute to the renewal of the world by our Eucharistic devotion, our consecration to you, and praying the Rosary daily.
    6. June: That, by faithful reception of the Holy Eucharist, we may grow in the joy of communiion with God and our brethren.
    7. July: That the Holy Spirit, the Giver of every gift, may guide us to be Eucharistic missionary disciples to transform the world.
    8. August: That every MI Knight, following the example of our founder, St. Maximilian Kolbe, may become a gift for others.
    9. September: That, under your guidance, we may practice authentic listening and dialogue with others in the Church and the world.
    10. October: That, as we celebrate the MI anniversary, we may embrace wholeheartedly the missionary vision that you entrusted to St. Maximilian Kolbe.
    11. November: That the examples of the Saints and the remembrance of the faithful departed may lead us to grow in joyful faith in eternal life.
    12. December: That, celebrating Christmas like St. Francis of Assisi, we may experience the joy of the mystery of the Incarnation.
  • Monthly Papal Prayer Intentions 2024

These are the monthly prayer intentions for 2024 from the Holy Father Pope Francis:

    1. January: For The Gift Of Diversity In The Church. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit helps us recognize the gift of different charisms within the Christian community, and to discover the richness of different ritual traditions in the heart of the Catholic Church.
    2. February: For The Terminally Ill. Let us pray that the sick who are in the final stages of life, and their families, receive the necessary medical and human care and accompaniment.
    3. March: For New Martyrs. Let us pray that those who risk their lives for the Gospel in various parts of the world might imbue the Church with their courage and missionary drive.
    4. April: For The Role Of Women. Let us pray that the dignity and worth of women be recognized in every culture, and for an end to the discrimination they face in various parts of the world.
    5. May: For The Formation Of Men And Women Religious And Seminarians. Let us pray that men and women religious and seminarians grow in their own vocational journey through human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, that leads them to be credible witnesses of the Gospel.
    6. June: For Those Fleeing Their Own Countries. Let us pray that migrants fleeing from war or hunger, forced to undertake journeys fraught with danger and violence, may find welcome and new living opportunities in their host countries.
    7. July: For The Pastoral Care of The Sick. Let us pray that the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, bestows the Lord’s strength to those who receive it and to their loved ones, and that it may become for everyone an ever more visible sign of compassion and hope.
    8. August: For Political Leaders. Let us pray that political leaders be at the service of their own people, working for integral human development and the common good, taking care of those who have lost their jobs and giving priority to the poor.
    9. September: For The Cry Of The Earth. Let us pray that each of us listens with our hearts to the cry of the Earth and of the victims of environmental disasters and the climate crisis, making a personal commitment to care for the world we inhabit.
    10. October: For A Shared Mission. Let us pray that the Church continues to sustain a synodal lifestyle in every way, as a sign of co-responsibility, promoting the participation, communion and mission shared by priests, religious and laity.
    11. November: For Those Who Have Lost A Child. Let us pray that all parents who mourn the loss of a son or daughter find support in their community, and may receive peace of heart from the Spirit of Consolation.
    12. December: For Pilgrims Of Hope. Let us pray that the coming Church Jubilee Year 2025 strengthens us in our faith; helping us to recognize the Risen Christ in the midst of our lives, transforming us into pilgrims of Christian hope.

This is the official website of the Militia of the Immaculata National Centre in Great Britain and Ireland. We are the only formally recognised centre in Great Britain and Ireland of the M.I. International. If you are normally resident in North America or Australia, please enrol with our counterparts in the United States of America, Canada, and Australia. Please click here for a copy of the M.I. General Statutes.

The M.I. (GB & Ireland) is a volunteer-run non-profit, i.e, no one volunteering for us receives a wage from the apostolate. To further our Marian work and evangelising outreach, we are entirely reliant upon donations, bequests, and endowments. Should you wish to financially support us, please get in touch.

As the Special Delegate for the M.I. (Great Britain & Ireland) is a Conventual Franciscan, we adhere to the safeguarding policies of the Order of Friars Minor, Conventual

Please also note that the Militia Immaculatae of Traditional Observance is run by the Society of Saint Pius X, which is a Catholic group not in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. The MI-TO is thus not historically or canonically connected with the Official M.I. Also, the Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix, which is attached to the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, is similar in structure to the M.I., but is not associated with it.
